David & Nicola - Elea Estate 17.10.19

How did the proposal happen?

We were heading to Glenskirlie Castle for an overnight stay which David had bought me for Christmas. We arrived at the castle, checked in and decided to go a walk before hitting the bar. We found a love swing where we sat taking photos. After David had taken my photo he asked me to move over so we could take a selfie and when I turned back round he was down on one knee with the ring in his hand - I don’t think I remember saying yes, I just screamed with excitement/disbelief.

How did you choose your venue?

Elea Estate was one of Vicki's recommendations after I described what sort of thing we were looking for and when we saw it we loved it!

Where did you buy your dress from, what designer was it and was it your first choice?

I bought my dress from a shop in East Kilbride called “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Boutique”.

Tell us about your wedding shoes, where did you get them, were they designer?

My shoes weren’t designer. I actually bought them from Amazon and to be honest they were very similar to Valentino shoes.

What perfume did you choose to wear on the day?

I wore Daisy Love from Marc Jacobs

Where did you buy the grooms suit from and how did you decide on the colour?

David and his groomsmen wore kilts which they hired from a shop in Glasgow.

How did you choose the bridesmaids dresses, colours & where did you get them from?

Bridesmaid dresses were from ASOS. I always knew I wanted a light colour as we were getting married in the sun.

Tell us about your wedding day decor, how did you choose what you had and what did you love most?

I went on Pinterest and would save photos of things we liked. Vicki put me in contact with Cyprus Wedding Touches who we hired the items from.

What entertainment did you book, why and did the guests enjoy it?

We booked the DJ that Vicki recommended. Our guests love to dance and as we had a variety of ages attending our wedding trough it would be good. Along with a Scottish Piper John Mcdonald which was a surprise for David and the family he piped in the groom and guests and also the bridal party. Oh and not forgetting the Ice Cream Trike too from Love Me Do !

Tell us about your cake, why that design and what flavour(s) did you choose?

We had a 3 tier cake which had some silver art work on it from Love Island Cakes booked via Vicki. Flavours were vanilla, chocolate and lemon - it tasted fantastic.

Who was your photographer, why did you book them and what did you think of your wedding photos?

We used Lee Squirrell Photography as our photographer, who was absolutely amazing. Again Vicki recommended him and we’re so glad she did as he made us feel at ease and the photos were amazing.

What advice would you give a couple looking to have their wedding in Cyprus?

DO IT! You won’t regret it one bit :)

What one snippet of advice would you give a couple for their actual wedding day?

Don’t stress. If you have a wedding planner then put your trust in them and enjoy your day. It goes by too quick to stress about the small things.

Tell us about one other memorable moment from your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle and seeing David’s face as he turned to see me. Butterflies in my tummy every time I think about it.
