What to do next 

ADVICE FOR OUR NEW COUPLES ON WHEN TO BOOK SERVICES & SUPPLIERS 

 

Please note other than your Photographer, Cake & Decor Company we will not book any suppliers now until you request we do so. Please read the what to do next section below which tells you when to start to book things with us. 

Many of our couples have asked about what they need to do now when they need to confirm and pay for things so we've created the below list.


We know many of you are enjoying finding and booking your own suppliers for your big day, but don’t forget we've worked hard to find and build relationships with many of the best local suppliers so we can help with all your supplier needs.

 

Don’t forget the more you book direct the more you have to deal with closer to the time so why not book via us for less stress and let us deal with all the arrangements. When we book suppliers for you, we will communicate with them, make sure they have all the information they need, confirm final arrangements and times, take care of their payment and make sure they turn up on the day and provide what’s been booked.

 

Your quote is based on a sample quote therefore please note here at Tie the Knot we don’t book anything for you without your prior permission.

 

FLOWERS:

We place our flower orders 1 month in advance - minor changes can be made up till the day before.

  • DEPOSIT: None

  • BALANCE: due in cash at your welcome meeting on arrival in resort

  • BOOKING: We will make any flower orders for you.

 

BEAUTY:

In February of each year, we confirm diary dates with my hairdresser/makeup artist.  Minor changes can be made up till 1 month before.

NOTES: Please note if you are getting married or holding your reception in a hotel you may be required by their terms and conditions to book any beauty via the hotel, so please check with me before booking.

  • DEPOSIT: None needed

  • BALANCE: due in cash at your welcome meeting on arrival in resort

  • BOOKING: We will make any beauty bookings for you.

 

CAKE:

When booking we will send an introduction email to Love Island with your contact details and they will be in touch with you direct to talk about yummy cakes 

  • DEPOSIT: None needed

  • BALANCE: due in cash at your welcome meeting on arrival in resort

  • BOOKING: we will send an Introduction email and then they will contact you directly, the reason we do this is there are endless permutations and combinations of cake designs and flavors, and Love Island are best qualified to help you with this. Jo at Love island will guide you through creating your dream wedding cake design and then let you know the cost. She knows what's possible and what's not when it comes to cakes and once you have chosen your personal design she will give you the cost once you are happy and it's all booked she will then coordinate with me with regards delivery and set up on the day so you have nothing to worry about. 

TRANSPORT:

If you require a special mode of transport like one of the open-top buses or a special bridal car then we suggest booking this as early as possible however of you just require a standard Merc bridal car, minibus, etc then we place our transport bookings 1 month in advance.

  • DEPOSIT: Depending on your choice of transport we will advise you at the time of booking.

  • BALANCE: due in cash at your welcome meeting on arrival in resort

  • BOOKING: We will make any transport bookings for you.


OPEN TOP BUSES:

These buses need to be pre-booked, we can estimate the pickup time so we can get this booked sooner rather than later or you can wait until you have your accommodation sorted here in Cyprus.

  • DEPOSIT: €80 upon booking paid to Tie the Knot

  • BALANCE: due in cash at your welcome meeting on arrival in resort

  • BOOKING: We will make any bus bookings for you.


ENTERTAINMENT:

If you require any other special entertainment for example Cyprus dancers, fire dancers, etc then we suggest booking this as early as possible however if you just require a DJ I provided my DJ with a list of dates at the end of each year ready for the next year and then we will confirm final details 1 month prior to the wedding with items such as your first dance song, etc.

  • BALANCE: due in cash at your welcome meeting on arrival in resort

  • BOOKING: We will make any entertainment bookings for you.

 

DECOR:

It’s very hard to quote for decor as couples' ideas on decor vary so much so the only way I can do this is to add in an average cost to give you a very basic idea on budget, this amount does not actually include anything specific.  What happens is once your date is confirmed we will send CWT a booking with your details, then they will contact you directly with their full brochure and booking form, you complete the booking form and return this to pay the €100 non-refundable deposit to secure your date, then I suggest starting to confirm your initial order, especially for those things like arches, love letters the larger things they only have one of and then you can change your order any time up to a month before the wedding which is when you start to confirm the final numbers and pay your final balance. “GET YOUR DATE IN THEIR DIARY SOONER RATHER THAN LATER TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT” DO THIS BY PAYING THE €100 DEPOSIT  AS SOON AS YOU CONFIRM YOUR DATE 

  • DEPOSIT: €100 to secure your date

  • BALANCE: 30 days before the wedding

  • BOOKING: We will introduce you to the Team at CWT and then they will deal directly with you re your decor order. The reason we suggest you deal direct with CWT is decor is a very personal thing, not any single wedding or couple is the same and they are specialists in their own field, they have such a wide variety of decor and bespoke create many items that it's better for them to guide you while you create your perfect decor package.  Once you have chosen everything in the lead-up and on the day we will coordinate set up and break down times and make sure everything is in order on the day so you don't have to worry.

EXTRA ITEMS:

If you would like to book services like ice cream karts, sweet karts, outdoor games, fireworks again we suggest these are booked and confirmed as early as possible.

  • DEPOSIT: Depending on your choice of extras we will advise you at the time of booking.

  • BALANCE: TBA

  • BOOKING: We will make any bookings for you.

 

PHOTOGRAPHERS & VIDEOGRAPHERS:

When booking we will send an introduction email to your photographer and detail the package you require with your contact details and they will be in touch with you directly to talk about how to pay their deposit. 

  • DEPOSIT: Depends on your choice of supplier

  • BALANCE: direct to the supplier, If you have booked Lee as your photographer his balance is due 2 months before and he’ll be in contact with his final invoice.

  • BOOKING: we will send an Introduction email and then they will contact you direct


BOOKING YOUR OWN SUPPLIERS

With us as your wedding planner you are free to book as little or as much as you like via us so if you find your own supplier we’re more than happy for you to book such services direct we prefer to be flexible after all it’s your day so why should you be restricted.

Please note you will need to abide by your venue's T’s & C’s with regards to suppliers so always check with us first before booking.

 

There are so many great suppliers here in Cyprus, however, please note should you wish to book your own suppliers direct it has to be understood that YOU are responsible for their payment and co-ordinating all arrangements and this will add to your workload and stress closer to the time and on the day. We can't be held responsible should they let you down, not provide you with what you booked, their equipment breakdown or failure, or their service not to be to your satisfaction.  As your wedding planner should any of your suppliers let you down we will endeavor to do our best to help you but this may not always be possible.

 

HOWEVER, We have taken the time to choose some of the best suppliers and services in the area in order to offer our clients a reliable service, good quality products, services and because we use them often they sometimes offer us better rates than if you were to book direct.
