TOP TIPS FROM YOUR WEDDING PLANNER: Adult & Teenage Bridesmaids
When choosing your bridesmaids make sure you pick those people who will keep you calm and relaxed on the day, if you have a high maintenance friend who stresses easily maybe the role of a bridesmaids is not for them, maybe choose another role for them like, witness or maybe giving a reading during the ceremony.
For those having a large bridal party make sure you think carefully about where everyone will get dressed on the day your hotel room is likely to be very small and too many people in one room plus photographers & maybe Videographers just causes more stress.
Limit the alcohol consumed in the morning while you’re getting ready, this has various effects in the heat, none of which make for a great outcome.
Remind your bridesmaids this is your day not theirs, they should remain calm and collect, it’s not all about them, today is your day!
Make sure you discuss the order in which they are going to walk, and how for example one by one two by two etc. We always suggest bridesmaids walk first leaving the bride to walk last to make her grand entrance.
Decide if they will sit during the ceremony or stand, note the photographer will prefer them to stand if this is possible at your venue.
If you have any nervous teenagers then allow them to walk along side a more confident bridesmaid.
Any nervous bridesmaids should NOT walk first always put them in the middle so they can follow someone more confident.
Again think carefully about their outfits and shoes, make sure their shoes are appropriate for your venue, do they have lots of stairs to walk down, will they be walking on sand or grass, take their surroundings into consideration when helping them choose their outfits.
